We first used Qlik Replicate to replicate data from the Oracle ERP system to a Microsoft SQL Server BI system. We have also started using Qlik Replicate to replicate from Salesforce to the Microsoft SQL Server BI system.
  • Flexibility for creating multiple tasks for grouping related tables
  • Table level filters
  • The scheduler feature has been very useful
  • The scheduler, while useful, has issues when trying to create or adjust a schedule more recent than the current time UTC. That is the one thing I would really like to see improved.
Qlik Replicate is very good at cross platform replication such as from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Prior to using Qlik Replicate, we used an ETL solution to copy data from the Oracle ERP system to the Microsoft SQL Server BI system at a 15-minute interval. It was very tedious to maintain. Qlik Replicate is much easier to use and we replicate data near real-time now.
There is a learning curve, but once you get the hang of using Qlik Replicate it is quite easy to use and you start to see ways to use it to improve your replication landscape.

Qlik's solutions have helped make financial data more easily accessible across orgs and has provided the additional functionality my team needs to provide real-time analytics in a fast-pace Tech environment. The platforms used prior to Qlik were not as intuitive, less reliable and much slower than the solutions provided by Qlik.
  • intuitive interface
  • reliable data
  • helpful support when needed
  • smoother interface
  • faster load times
  • enhanced funtionality
There are many applications where Qlik's solutions have helped my team considerably, most notably when we were tasked with providing detailed analysis with a short turn-around time (Qlik's quick interface allowed us to complete the task without delay). A scenario where Qlik is not ideal is when it's used by an untrained or inexperienced user.
  • fast data delivery speed
  • more accurate data pulls (time-savings)
  • scalable to other applications
fairly intuitive for most users; a bit of a learning curve initially. It doesn't get much more simple as far as what this application can do.

Qlik Replicate is being used as a Data Ingestion layer from enterprise applications and source systems like ERP, CRM by directly scanning the backend DB logs on a real-time basis. Qlik Replicate is used specifically by IT for Data Warehousing and BI reporting. It helps resolve not running a batch-based ETL process to ingest the data into the Data Warehouse staging layers avoiding an expensive overhead to manage additional time-bound processes.
  • Data ingestion.
  • Real-time analytics.
  • Replicating/syncing source data (CRUD operations).
Qlik Replicate is well suited for building data pipelines to replace ETL processing, this is extremely useful when the source datasets lack identification of change records. Instead of ETL doing a row by row comparison which is more expensive Qlik Replicate does the delta changes by using watermark from the database logs eliminating the need any additional processing for sourcing the data. It is more appropriate where the need arises to ingest the source data as its generated for faster ingestion and analysis (real-time analytics).
  • Faster data delivery.
  • Quick insights.
  • Reduced dependency on support resources.
  • Saved time and money spend on managing additional processes.
Qlik Replicate was more manageable, very intuitive and easy to understand than the other products like Striim. The learning curve is less with Qlik Replicate and the connectors for various sources was easier to plug and play.
Intuitive, easy to manage and good return on investment.

It is used as a replication service(tool) to copy data from one source to another(Target) and make use of the data instead of hitting the main source and that is used for all the data analytics. This solved the problem of the cross-platform join for the end-users who want to view the data.
  • Replication
  • Synchronization
  • Distribution
  • Support
  • Cost
  • Learning curve
Organizations should use this tool if they have a variety of data sets that needed to be in one place and do cross-platform joins.
  • Less time consuming analyzing data
  • Less ETL process
  • More filtering options
Simple to do one-to-one copy and very reliable, as other tools a little complex in setting up the pipelines and scheduling parts. Very simple to connect to the SFTP locations and easy to download them as well.
As I said, it is simple and reliable and very distributed and consolidated.

Qlik Replicate is used to keep internal and external data in sync for the Interstate Batteries data lake running on Snowflake. It is used across the entire organization, even at the officer level. It allows us to have a reliable single source of truth for the various reporting needs at Interstate.
  • Replicate data from external sources to an internal data lake.
  • Keep data in sync from one source to another collective source, regardless of the sources in question.
  • Perform near-real-time tasks and replications as required, but this is adjustable because some of our replications are only meant to provide data that is not less than 24 hours old.
  • In the beginning of our partnership, support was a real challenge. It has improved over the last three years, but there is still more room for improvement.
  • The learning curve is steep and it is hard to find a replication specialist, so Interstate was forced to train someone in house, and there were growing pains there.
  • Cost is always an area for improvement, although, in my opinion, at least for Interstate, cost is reasonable.
It is a good solution to achieve the purpose of keeping two disparate data sources in sync with each other. Our environment is small to medium size, so it is hard for me to say how well it scales. The rate of replication is adjustable and this is one way to improve performance.
  • It is hard to quantify the value that reliable reporting brings; the reporting would not be possible with out Qlik Replicate.
I have not evaluated any other competing products. Qlik Replicate was the first product we selected for the data lake three years ago, and we have stayed with it ever since.
At least for us, it would be difficult to find a replication specialist, and so we had to train up someone already on our team. Support was not very good the first year, but that has improved. It is a steep learning curve without good support. It was worth the time investment, though, for the value the solution provides.
